Partnerships with stakeholders in the region of Western Macedonia

The transition process requires that the Western Macedonia communities respond and accommodate to the new conditions in order to “transform from a lignite-dependent to a clean energy generation and research centre with a diversified economic model“, as defined in the Just Transition Plan. In this context, and as the transition social dialogue between the academic and local stakeholders, and chambers and enterprises is vital, the University of Western Macedonia has formed powerful synergies and signed Memoranda of Cooperation with local institutions, with a view to collaborating for restructuring production models in the region:
